St. Martin's Memo to Parents

August 13, 2023

Dear Members of the St. Martin’s School Community,

As we look forward to the start of a new school year at St. Martin’s, permit us to first mention that the past year’s accomplishments included earning the accreditation of the American Montessori Society (AMS). AMS accreditation means that St. Martin’s School meets the rigorous standards of a quality Montessori education. Only about 15 percent of member schools have achieved this gold standard of Montessori excellence.

I hope you and your children enjoyed and benefited from your experience with us at St. Martin’s this year. Some of you are also spending your summer months with us. For those others, we very much look forward to seeing you again in September. To all of you, we hope you are enjoying a fun, healthy and rewarding summer.

This September will bring several changes to St. Martin’s School. Lisa Garb has been named Interim Head of School, succeeding Nimali Matos, and will continue in this role until St. Martin’s completes its search for a new Head of School. Lisa brings to St. Martin’s almost 20 years’ experience in pre-school and kindergarten education and administration, most recently at Stellar Academy. In conjunction with this, Kristen Petrone has been appointed Assistant Head of School, effective September 1, 2023, and began transitioning into her new role in August. For the past 16 years, Kristen has taught at St. Martin’s and, as one of our lead instructors, was instrumental in helping secure our new accreditation. Additionally, our lead and assistant teachers will be returning in the upcoming school year.

Also, effective September 1, Randy Jandak will begin serving as Office Administrator for St. Martin’s School, succeeding Sam Subramanian. In assuming these responsibilities, Randy brings with him a wealth of professional experience and will work closely with St. Martin’s treasurer, Chris Evans. We thank Nimali and Sam for their many contributions to St. Martin’s School and wish them the best in their new endeavors.

Among other changes, please use the following email address only when communicating with us – – admissions@stmartinsschoolnj.com. If you have any questions, please send us an email or call us at 908-526-2722.

Finally, we look forward to seeing many of you at Meet Your Teacher Day on September 5th, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, and on September 6th, the first day of our new school year.

Sincerely,

Father Robert Laws and the St. Martin’s School Board
