Mindfulness

Mindfulness practices have existed in the Montessori classroom since the start of the 20th century, when Dr. Maria Montessori first began her journey with children in San Lorenzo, Rome. Children are able to be present in the moment, awakened by the sheer joy of the purposefulness of the activity. At St. Martin’s, focused attention through the practice of mindfulness has helped our children to be aware of themselves, others, the environment, and the present moment.
